Friday Night Live: The Hard Chargers

From speedy washboard/resonator driven Roots Music to gritty roadhouse style Blues/Rock, all the while eschewing the plodding 12-bars and standard covers, The HardChargers have performed across the island of Ireland since 2009.

Steeped in inspiration from the greats of the pre-electric blues – Blind Willie McTell, Blind Willie Johnson, Bukka White, Willie Brown, Lightnin’ Hopkins, Son House. Their live set is an electrifying reimagining of the Mississippi Delta circa 1930 with the lyricism of Lonesome Chris’ real-world blues and a musical language exquisitely refined from all of Blues and Rock history in between.

They have been repeat guests at numerous Irish festivals including Monaghan’s Harvest Time Blues Festival, Wicklow’s Knockanstockan Festival, and the Hilden Brewery Festival, Lisburn.

They have self-released and sold out four singles/EPs. Touring in Britain and Europe will be a new focus for 2018 as they prepare their new album “Scarecrow” for national release later in the year.
