ARDS AND NORTH DOWN ARTS FUNDING AND BURSARIES NOW OPEN FOR APPLICATIONS

Ards and North Down Borough Council currently have various Arts Funds and Bursaries open for applications.

The Ballinglen Arts Foundation Bursary offers a two-week Studio Residency at Ballinglen Arts Foundation OR a place on one of Ballinglen's Residency Workshops. From painting to printmaking, there is a raft of opportunities on offer at the foundation which is situated in the pretty village of Ballycastle on the sea coast of North County Mayo. The residency is aimed at professional practicing visual artists and crafts people. Artists are provided with accommodation as well as a studio to work in.

Also on offer, are one-week residencies to the Tyrone Guthrie Centre in Annaghmakerrig in County Monaghan. Open to arts practitioners in all mediums (eg: visual arts, crafts, literature, music, etc), the aim of the bursary is to assist and encourage both established and emerging artists and give them the opportunity to work intensively on a project alongside others in a very unique environment.

The deadline for receipt of Bursary applications is Monday 26 February at 12 noon.  

If you are a community group, special interest group or charitable organisation don’t miss out on the chance to access funding for arts-related activities and projects via the Arts Project Fund.  A maximum grant of £1,000 is available.

Professional artists and crafts people working and living in the Borough may apply to the Individual Artist Fund for support towards training or development opportunities. A maximum grant of £250 is available.

The Youth Arts Training Fund is available to young people living in the borough who wish to undertake short-term or one-off youth arts training or development opportunities. A maximum grant of £250 is available.

These rounds of funding are suitable for projects taking place from April 2018 – March 2019.

An information evening designed to assist people wishing to apply for an arts grant will take place on Tuesday 30 January from 6pm – 8pm at Ards Arts Centre. Pre-booking is essential.

Deadline for receipt of Arts Project Grant applications is Friday, 16 February at 12 noon and the deadline for receipt of applications for the Youth Arts Training Fund and the Individual Artist Fund is Monday, 5 March at 12 noon.
